Wits Dental Clinic, The Clinic opens at 08:00 and closes at 16:30, Mondays to Fridays. Not open on weekends or public holidays.
Consultations are by appointment:
Please book an appointment so that we are able to minimise the time required to wait for assistance, and to accommodate all those who require help.
Family planning issues are dealt with between 8am and 11am.
Emergencies do occur. Emergencies and students who are writing exams are taken as walk-ins. Emergency call outs require two sisters to leave the clinic and attend to the patient at the scene. We ask for your understanding should this cause in-clinic delays.

Staff not on a medical aid will be charged scale of benefit rates and must pay at the time of consultation.
Staff who get injured on duty do not need to pay for services.
Students not on a medical aid are charged a nominal fee for services. However, any services offered outside of the Campus Health & Wellness Service will have to be paid for by the student.
Residence students pay a capitation fee at the time of registration and are therefore charged only R20 for consultation with a PHC nurse, including treatment.

International students are required to have a medical aid before registering at the University. They may use their medical aid to see the private medical practitioner at the CHWC (Monday to Friday), or CHWC staff at a nominal fee. If they are residence students, the above applies.
