University Of Johannesburg Finance, the Department of Finance an Investment Management offers market relevant and challenging educational programmes that is required for leadership in a complex and rapidly changing world. The Department offers a variety of academic programmes that allow students the freedom to explore their intellectual and personal passions within the finance industry.

The Department has been recognised by both the Institute for Chartered Financial Analysts (CFA) and the Institute for Chartered Alternative Investment Analysts (CAIA). This has made UJ the first university in Africa to be recognised by both the CFA and CAIA institutions.
The Department’s Investment Management Honours programme has had teams participate in the South African final of CFA Institute Research Challenge the past 4 years. In 2015 the team won the South African final and competed in the regional final in Chicago during April 2016. The Department is proud of its hard working students.
The B.Com (Finance) programme distinguishes itself from its peers in that it enables students to complete a finance degree and then specialise in a variety of fields. Students that decide to embark on any of the courses offered by the Department of Finance and Investment Management can expect exciting developments during their studies as well as to be equipped for a financially rewarding career thereafter.

Student FinanceStudent Finance is a support division and is responsible for delivering accurate student account statements. Student Finance strives to give excellent service to all students, parents, sponsors, donors and external clients.
The Student Debtors Department is a decentralized division with a full debtors’ service on all campuses. The Bursary Department has dedicated offices based on each of the four campuses.
