UFH Development Studies, applications are invited from qualified and experienced candidates for the above-mentioned permanent position in the Faculty of Management and Commerce – Department of Development Studies:

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Teaching undergraduate and Honours courses in the fields of; development management, institutions and development, planning, monitoring and evaluation, public policy and reform management, development strategies
  • Postgraduate Supervision
  • Coordination of training programmes in the department
  • Development of research proposals for funding and partnership proposals
  • Engagement in all the learning, research and community activities of the department. 
  • Engage in activities and events in the faculty and university, and / or academic association(s).
  • Representing and serving the university on different committees and groups where necessary

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Masters in Development Studies, preferably in Development Management.
  • Experience of teaching in higher education environment
  • Reasonable record of research publications and evidence of ongoing research activity
  • Proven ability or potential to supervise research at Honours and Master’s levels and to develop research capacity
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Relevant computer skills
