1. How do I apply?

3. How do I get an application form?

There are four ways to get an application form.

4. Can I apply online?

No, we don’t currently offer online applications.

5. What can I study?

We have more than 70 courses across six faculties, visit our faculty pages for more information on these courses.
If you are unsure about what you want to study, you can contact the Department of Student Counselling for career assessment and advice.

6. What are the requirements?

View the Admission requirements.

7. I am studying at a college, can I apply with my college marks?

Yes, you can. But you must apply with your National Senior Certificate and with an academic record from the college where you studied.

8. What marks must I send?

If you are still in Grade 12, your marks obtained in Grade 11 together with your most recent Grade 12 marks must be submitted.
If you have finished school, you must submit a certified copy of your National Senior Certificate.

9. Do I have to complete a questionnaire/ do a portfolio/ go for an interview to apply?

Some courses require students to complete a portfolio, questionnaire or essay. Check the application form and the additional admission requirements.

10. Do I have to write an entrance exam?

Some course require students to write an NBT (National Benchmark Test).

11. I’m from another country, what must I do?

International applicants have a number of requirements they must meet. Contact the Office of International Affairs.

12. How do I send in my form?

You can submit your application form and accompanying documents in two ways:

  • Forms can be hand-delivered at the campus where the programme is offered. The venues of offering of all courses are outlined in the application form.
  • Forms can also be posted to the Admissions Office at the campus where the programme is offered.
13. Will I be accepted?

To be accepted, you must at least meet the minimum admission requirements. To better your chances, make sure that you exceed the minimum requirements.

14. When will I hear back about my application?

We receive thousands of applications, so it may be a while before you will hear back from us.

15. How do I know if I have been accepted?

You will receive a letter from us stating that you are provisionally accepted. You will only be fully accepted once you have submitted your final matric marks and they meet the requirements. If you have not been accepted, you will also get a letter from us.

16. What are the fees?

Fees differ depending on the course you want to study and the classes you take. On our website you can get a fees estimate.

17. How do I get a bursary?

You can only apply for a bursary from CPUT once you have been registered for your course. Contact the Financial Aid Office.

18. How do I get space in a residence?

You can apply for residence when you apply to study.
