Meet the pre-requisites

  • Masters programmes: you must have an average mark of 60% at Honours or B-Tech level, and at least 60% mark in Research Methodology.
  • Doctorate programmes: an appropriate Masters or M-Tech Degree with an average of 65%

The process of becoming a postgrad

  1. For both Masters and Doctorate, the Assistant Dean will verify if you qualify for the programme you intend to study.
  2. You will be allocated a preliminary supervisor by the relevant Head of Department.  
    • The preliminary supervisor will guide you to develop a Research Proposal.
  3. Once the proposal has reached the required standard in terms of quality, it will be presented at the Departmental level and following positive outcome, it will be presented at the Faculty Research and Innovation Committee (FRIC). Click here for the FRIC 2019 dates.pdf (PDF)
  4. Approval of the Proposal by the Faculty Research and Innovation Committee will allow you to officially register.
  5. Registration for 2019 academic year ends 30 August 2019.
  6. Registration after 30 August 2019 will be for the 2020 academic year.
