Closing dates for 2018 and 2019 admission
2018 applications are closed.
2019 first semester applications open on 1 August 2018 and close 15 November 2018.
2019 second semester applications open on 7 January 2019 and close 30 April 2019.

Please note: the university reserves the right to change these dates. Before acting on any of the dates below confirmation should be sought from the appropriate office.

The following dates apply to undergraduate admission for 2018.
15 January
- Final Cambridge Assessment International Education (CIE) results from the November 2017 session are due.
19 February
- Start of teaching Semester 1.
21 April
- The UCT Open Day will be held from 10:00–15:00 on the Upper Campus.
Open Day is a good opportunity to access important information about the application process. (It’s also a good time for younger siblings to start thinking about UCT opportunities!)
15 July
- Preferred date for submission of a Bachelor of Architectural Studies (BAS) portfolio, for early consideration.
31 August
- Preferred date for submission of a BA (Fine Art) portfolio, for early consideration.
30 September
- All undergraduate applications close. We do not accept late applications.
- Applications for student accommodation close.
1 October
- Final date for BAS or Fine Art portfolio submissions.
- Final date to submit the personal report and CV for Health Sciences applicants.
13 October
- Last opportunity to write the National Benchmark Tests (NBTs).
31 October
- Closing date for programme changes. Programme changes must be submitted in writing to [email protected] with the subject line “Change to Programme Choices”.
- Due date for interim National Senior Certificate (NSC) results. If you are currently at school and you are registered to write the NSC in South Africa, please ensure that your grade 12 interim scores are submitted.
- Due date for predicted scores. If you are currently at school and you are not registered to write the NSC in South Africa, please ensure that your predicted scores are submitted by your school.
- Due date for interim and past transcripts. If you are currently registered for tertiary studies, submit your most recent academic record. If you are not registered for tertiary studies, but completed tertiary studies earlier, your final transcript is now due.
- Due date for final South African and international school results from May 2018 and earlier.
31 December
- The final tertiary transcripts for students registered for tertiary studies in 2018 are due.
15 January 2019
- Final Cambridge Assessment International Education (CIE) results from the November 2018 session are due.
11 February 2019
- First semester classes start at UCT.
