UP Health Services
UP Health Services,
Student Health Services provide basic medical services to all registered students at UP. The services are run by fully qualified and registered healthcare professionals and are offered on all UP campuses. This includes the fully accredited Voluntary Counselling and Testing (VCT) Clinic for HIV and AIDS that, in collaboration with the University’s Centre for the Study of AIDS, offers free testing and counselling to students.

Services available at Student Health Services (SHS)
- The Student Health Services are the medical and wellness services available to all registered UP students on various campuse
- The comprehensive services are available at the Hatfield Campus every week day and on the other campuses on a rotational basis, staffed by a professional nurse
- Student Health Services on the Hatfield Campus is staffed by:
- Medical doctors
- Professional nurses
- Dieticians
- Optometrists
- HIV peer counsellors (or Befrienders, who are specially trained CSA&G volunteers
- Services are FREE to all registered students of the University of Pretoria
