| The office is dedicated to the management, protection and commercialisation of the University’s Intellectual Property (IP). The TTO is located in the Business Innovation Centre (BIC) allows for synergy between various stakeholders to integrate business processes, as well as to engage with NIPMO on behalf of UWC.In December 2008 the Intellectual Property Rights from Publicly Financed Research and Development Act was gazetted. The Act (no. 51 of 2008) came into effect on 2 August 2010, which provides for the establishment of a National Intellectual Property Management Office (NIPMO) within the National Department of Science and Technology. |
