As from 1 August 2016 all new National Student Financial Aid Scheme applications must be submitted directly to National Student Financial Aid Scheme online.

The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (National Student Financial Aid Scheme) student centred model will be going live as from 1 August 2016. This means that:

• All new applications (matriculants) must be submitted directly to National Student Financial Aid Scheme online (www.nsfas.org.za)
• All students who have signed their loan agreement forms (LAF) for 2016 and are currently receiving National Student Financial Aid Scheme funding DO NOT HAVE TO REAPPLY. Funding will be granted provided you meet the academic requirements
• All students who were previously funded by National Student Financial Aid Scheme and are not funded in 2016 must apply online
• Students who have never received National Student Financial Aid Scheme funding must apply online

Already submitted a National Student Financial Aid Scheme application form to Wits?

• Matriculants who have already submitted their National Student Financial Aid Scheme applications to Wits do not need to reapply. The University will send your application directly to National Student Financial Aid Scheme. Further information will follow.
• Please note that the Wits Student Enrolment Centre will not be accepting any further applications as from Monday, 1 August 2016.
• All paper National Student Financial Aid Scheme applications must be posted to the 2018 Online Application, National Student Financial Aid Scheme Contact centre, Private Bag X4, Plumstead, 7801, Cape Town, or emailed to [email protected].

Please note the following opening and closing dates:

Grade 12 and past matriculants	1 August – 30 November
Students who were not previously funded	1 September – 30 November
