University Of Mpumalanga Walk In, The management of the University of Mpumalanga (UMP), Mbombela Campus encourages more students to continue sending in their applications to the university.
“They are coming in, but not as much as we expected them. Our target this year is to have an enrolment figure of 1 200 in various courses. Our enrolment will increase next year as we expect to have increased the number of our infrastructure and lecture rooms,” explained Mr Themba Manana, spokesperson for the university.
Manana said admissions are still open for Bachelor of Arts degree, B Com, B Science in Agriculture, Diploma in Agriculture in plant production, Diploma in Nature Conservation, Diploma in Hospitality Management, Advanced Diploma in Hospitality Management, Diploma in IT and Advanced Diploma in Agricultural Extension.
Students can physically walk in for their application processes or download application forms from the university’s website. We still expect more students to come and apply,” he said.
On Tuesday some of the first time applicants were assisted on how to the fill in the application forms. So far, no disturbances have been reported from the university.
“Nayo iEFF isasicolele kwamanje,” said Manana.
He added that enrolment for the Bachelor Education at Siyabuswa Campus was closed last year. The university aims to reach a target of 18 000 to 20 000 students by the year 2026/26.
