University Of Limpopo Bcta, The BCTA will target graduating students from the non-accredited BCom accounting to serve as a bridging programme to increase the pipeline of prospective black Chartered Accountants and will commenced in January 2016.

The above submission consisted of the integrated self-evaluation report and 30 files of annexures made up of subject information for each module including: (i) learner guides; (ii) past formative and summative assessments with corresponding solutions and moderators report; (iii) teaching philosophy of lecturers and (iv) teaching and learning materials amongst others.

To this end, the University will host a South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA) Accreditation Visit on the 8th and 9th April 2015 for SAICA to evaluate and make recommendation to the SAICA Academic Review Committee (ARC) for the new accreditation of the BCTA and continued accreditation of the BAcc programmes.

The SAICA team will be made up of 8 members drawn from SAICA, the Independent Regulatory Board for Auditors (IRBA) and four different Universities such as Rhodes, UNISA, University of Pretoria and University of Cape Town.

  • Continued Accreditation of the Bachelor of Accountancy (BAcc) Degree Programme with rating of “1”.
  • SAICA Accreditation of the Honours Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting (BComHons – Acc) / Bridging Certificate in the Theory of Accountancy (BCTA) with effect from January 2016.
