UCT Board Course
UCT Board Course,
In January 2012, the University of Cape Town formed the College of Accounting with a clear mandate to be a centre of excellence in professional accounting education.
As part of that mandate, Cape Town Board Course (CTBC), a UCT initiative, presented preparatory courses for the SAICA Qualifying Board Exams. From 2013, the former offerings of the CTBC have been fully integrated into the College of Accounting and are now presented as the UCT Board Course.
The move to offer the ITC and APC Board Courses under the official and reputable banner of the College of Accounting allows the CTBC to receive the strategic focus and resources that it merits. The UCT Board Course brings together twenty years of experience in preparing trainees for the Initial Test of Competence (previously Part I of the Qualifying Examination) and a new innovative approach to preparing candidates to write the Assessment of Professional Competence (i.e. the new style Part II) in 2014.
The UCT Board Course – a suite of courses specifically tailored to the professional education of trainee chartered accountants – aims to sufficiently prepare Candidates for the Qualifying Board Exams, and more importantly, ensure that they are well equipped to make a meaningful contribution to the accounting profession
