Follow this five-step process, and your registration at KSD TVET College should be problem-free:

Step 1: Student obtains an application form at the reception/registration office.  Student ensures that the form is completed in full and all the necessary documents are attached, including proof of payment of the application fee(R30) which should be deposited to the college account (see banking details below). He / She also complete a bursary form and hands both forms to the student registration office.

Step 2: Student is called for a CAP test*
*An assessment test conducted by the college
Step 3: Once accepted, student deposits the initial fee required for registration (see prescribed fees below) to the college bank account. Please note that this fee is non-refundable.
Step 4: Student returns the proof of payment to the student registration office for capturing.
Step 5: Once registered on the system, student will be issued with a letter of registration and a student card. Students who require accommodation proceed to register for hostel accommodation.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS AND PROCEDURES
Admission Requirements for NCV Level 2
• Grade 9,10,11,12
Duration: Each NQF Level is offered for one year, from January to December
For entry into the National Certificate at NQF Level 2, you require:

  • A year end school report from grade 9 or higher, or an NQF Level 1 qualification, or
  • Approved bridging programme designed for the specific  purpose to access NQF Level 2, or
  • Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) assessment to meet the requirements for access to NQF Level 2.

How long is the qualification?
The National Certificate qualification is a full year programme at each level of the NQF levels of study. A student is issued with a certificate on the successful completion of each level of study that is Level 2, 3 and 4.
Which subjects make up a National Certificate?
In order to obtain a National Certificate a student is required to take a total of seven (07) subjects. These include three (03) fundamental subjects
1.     Life Orientation                                    40%
2.     English                                                40%
3.     Mathematics/ Maths literacy               30%
N/B: Only one fundamental subject may be condoned for a maximum of 5%
And four (04) vocational subjects, of which you must attain 50%, pass mark.  Three (03) are compulsory and one (01) is optional.
N/B: %, No condonement for Vocational subjects.
