Requirements:

  • A Grade 12 Certificate with admission to diploma studies
  • An achievement rating of 3 (40% – 49%) in 4 recognised 20 credit bearing subjects
  • Mathematics or Mathematical Literacy
  • English at grade 12/NQF level 4 or equivalent
    • Age Exemption (23 years or older)
    • At least five years post-Secondary School experience in the field in which the student wish to study and
    • Proof of English language proficiency and
    • National Senior Certificate or equivalent
  • Mature age applicants, 45 years and older without a school leaving qualification, may apply for conditional exemption
  • Foreign Students whose first language is not English, may be required to provide proof of proficiency in English prior to admission to the programme

Time you will spend on the course

The programme duration is 3 years on a full-time basis, or 4 years on a part-time basis. Tuition is face to face and is scheduled per campus. Programmes are offered during the week on a full-time and part-time basis. Part-time tuition is scheduled as per the stipulated planner.

  • ONLY if you have successfully completed the full qualification National Diploma: Technical Financial Accounting (SAQA ID 36213, Level 5) may you proceed to register for this qualification.

You will be granted credits towards this qualification

  • Admission WILL be subject to an interview with an academic staff member

This is a two-year course (based on contact hours determined by the ICB), in which you will attend full-time classes during the week. A year planner and academic calendar is available at the start of the year with dates and times of classes and campus activities to help you plan your schedule.

The strength in your qualification

Upon successful completion of the programme, ICB will issue learners with a Results Letter outlining the modules covered and a National Diploma: Financial Accounting, SAQA ID 20366 (Credits 280) with a FASSET endorsement will be awarded. Learner results will be recorded on the ICB National Learner Records Database within 3 months of completion.

**Whenever Damelin offers training towards a programme that will be awarded by another provider or institute, it is called an Agent Programme. In the case of an Agent Programme, Damelin registers the learners, provides tuition and conducts internal assessments. External examinations with the agent body will result in learners receiving the certificate from them.
