What is Office 365?

Office 365 is a subscription based version of Microsoft’s Office Suite of applications. The suite includes a downloadable version of the following

• Word
• Excel
• PowerPoint
• Outlook
• Access
• Publisher

 
New student email system – Microsoft Live@edu
The current GroupWise email system for students as well as the Novell H drives will be replaced in 2012 by a new Microsoft cloud system called Microsoft live@edu. The system is in the final stages of configuration and will be available for testing over the next 2 weeks.
Here are some of the features of the live@edu system
• Co-branded Windows Live Hotmail experience for computer, mobile, and online with unlimited inbox storage capacity, for free (replacing the current GroupWise email account)
• Online collaboration and the space to store more than 1,000 documents with Microsoft Office Live Workspace
• 25 GB of online storage per user with Microsoft Windows Live SkyDrive (replacing the current Novell H-drive)
All current student email accounts will be created on the live@edu system and will be available to all students for life. The format of the email is [email protected]  e.g. [email protected]. Email address can also be customized by using aliases.

What is MyCPUT and Live@edu?
MyCPUT provides students and future alumni with a free 10GB lifetime email account, 25GB online storage called a SkyDrive, online collaboration tools, photo sharing, mobile alerts, instant messaging tools and much more!
This service is powered by Microsoft Live@edu. Live@edu includes access to Office Web Applications built with the same Office interface used by more than 500 million people worldwide. These tools will help you get a competitive edge at university and in the job market.
