GENERAL EDUCATION AND TRAINING (GET) FOUNDATION PHASE (GRADE R – 3)(Discontinued) – No new applications accepted

BEd: (Baccalaureus Educationis)

The aim of this course is to equip students with the knowledge and skills required to enter careers as efficient and effective professional educators, and to provide them with a sound knowledge and background in the teaching of learners from Reception Year to Grade 3.In the fourth year of study, students choose to specialise in one of the following: Early Childhood Development (learners aged three to five years), Integrated Arts, Mathematics, Environmental Studies, or First Language.
Career Opportunities
This four-year degree qualifies the graduate to teach primary school learners from Reception Year to Grade 3.
