Student Accommodation – Off Campus

The university is only able to accommodate 60% of students in university residences thus there is a demand for affordable, quality, off-campus accommodation.  It is important to note that the university does not enter into any lease agreements with any landlords.  It is a relationship between the landlord and the student and/or the students’ parent/guardian.  Some student funders, like the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS), does however require the university to recommend off-campus accommodation.  This can be facilitated through the residence manager, Ms Faith Nconyane at 053 491 0106 or [email protected]

Students are advised to make sure that the off-campus accommodation they secure is recommended by the university before signing any lease agreements.  This is important as some sponsors will not fund accommodation that is not recommended by the university.  Should students require assistance with understanding the terms of their lease agreements then they are advised to contact the residence manager.
