Time you will spend on the course
The programme duration is 60 hours and tuition is face-to-face. Each Damelin campus has a different tuition schedule. Programmes are offered during the week, in the evenings, or on Saturdays.

Getting Started
The site development plan, defining your target audience, gathering content and choosing the right tools.
Designing for the Web
The website look and feel, mock-up design, slicing and optimizing web graphics, and acquaints you with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
Building Web Sites
Adding text, images and links, organising content with tables and lists, styling with cascading style sheets, understanding CSS style properties and building web sites.
Web Standards and Testing
Web standards, testing, accessibility, compliance, and validation of the site.
Publishing and Site Maintenance
Domain registration and hosting, publishing a site, search engine optimization and site maintenance.

Skills Programme in Internet and Web Design
Part Time | This is part of an accredited NQF programme, with MICT SETA, namely National Certificate in Information Technology: Systems Development, SAQA ID 48872, NQF level 5 | This Skills Programme is occupationally based and when successfully completed, will constitute credits towards the abovementioned qualification registered on the NQF.
Even though this is an intermediate level course (learners will be expected to do only introductory client-side programming), learners will be given meaningful exposure to more advanced topics such as HTML hand-coding, CSS (Cascading Style Sheets), JavaScript programming, designing Web pages and sites with good usability, and graphics file formats, their manipulation and preparation.
This Skills Programme is part of a full qualification that is mapped to a cluster of unit standards taken from a programme that is accredited by MICT SETA, namely National Certificate in Information Technology: Systems Development SAQA ID 48872, NQF level 5, 131 credits.

Workplace Learning
This programme includes a compulsory Workplace Learning component. Workplace learning provides important opportunities for professional and personal growth. The strength in your qualification
- Upon successful completion of the programme, if the learner is found to be “Competent” in the PoE, the learner will receive a Damelin letter of results outlining the unit standards covered and Damelin will apply to MICT SETA on behalf of the learner for the endorsement of competency against the unit standards covered together with the credits obtained.
- Upon successful completion of the optional external exam, the learner will receive a Microsoft Certificate.
